Люди дарят подарки, готовят всяческие сладости. Какая сегодня дата? Верно! 25 Декабря. Мы присоединимся к англичанам и американцам. Готовы праздновать Рождество?

A lot of people go there to have fun, sing songs, dance and play games near the New Year Tree at night and in the daytime. You can meet Grandfather Frost and his granddaughter Snegurochka there. It is a festival of presents, smiles, good wishes, love.

BRITAIN

In BRITAIN, children write their letters to Father Christmas and then throw them into the fireplace so they will float up the chimney and fly to the North Pole. Britain was the first country to hang up mistletoe.

France

In FRANCE, young children leave their shoes by the fire on Christmas Eve for a gift from "le pиre Noлl" while the older children and adults go to church at midnight and then return home for a late supper called "le rйveillon". Christmas puppet shows are very popular in France, mainly in Paris and in Lyons. In France children put their shoes near the fire place so "le pиre Noлl"  cfn fill them with presents

Australia

In AUSTRALIA, Santa's sleigh is pulled by eight white kangaroos.
In AUSTRALIA and New Zealand, December comes during the summer. Many people celebrate Christmas by going on a picnic or going to the beach. Schoolchildren have six-week summer holiday at Christmas

Scotland

Most Scottish families have a Christmas tree  and sing carols but they have their most important celebration on New Year’s Eve. It is called Hogmanay. Scottish people have fun with crackers at lunch or dinner. The crackers go bang and you find colorful papers.

The USA

Singing Christmas songs is another old tradition in the USA. Groups of children and adults go from house to house and sing Christmas songs, called carols. Some people give money, sweets, small presents,

Russia

Christmas is one of the most important festival in Russia. We celebrate it on the 7th of January. We have special traditions. One of them is kolaydki-Christmas carols. Children go from one house to another house sing kolyadki and wish good luck to everyone, and people give presents. People wear carnival costumes and masks. They play games by the bonfire, swim in an ice hole, dance in a circle.
